Family Friendly Halloween Activities

MHP_with_Mickey__MinnieIf you are looking for some family fun during the Halloween season, Central Florida is the place to be! You can certainly visit any of the theme parks (SeaWorld, Disney, Universal) for a great time, but if you are looking for something close to home, here are a few of our favorites:

Boo at the Zoo: This includes trick-or-treating, arts, crafts, and kids’ activities among the nocturnal animals. 5:30-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 5:30-9 p.m. Sunday, Brevard Zoo,
brevardzoo.org.

Halloween in the Park: There will be trick-or-treat booths from area businesses from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Other activities include family-friendly games and a costume contest with prizes. Costume contest will be categorized by age group. At 7:30 p.m., Disney’s “Haunted Mansion” will be shown on the big screen in the park. 5:30-9 p.m. Apopka.

Halloweenfest: This event includes live entertainment, family activities, and vendors starting at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31, Downtown Winter Garden.

Howl-o-ween: A dog walk and canine costume contest to benefit Franklin’s Friends. There will be music, food, vendors, and family activities. This event will be on October 27th at 6:00 PM at the Maitland Civic Center.

Pumpkins and Munchkins: Activities will include games, bounce houses, a costume contest, Trick-or-Treat Trail and safe Halloween fun. It is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 31,  Winter Park.

Spooky Hollow Trick-or-Treat: It includes costume contests, carnival games and treats from local merchants and begins at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31, Downtown Sanford.

ZOO Boo Bash: The Halloween event will include an animal-themed, non-animal themed costume contest, trick-or-treating, face painting, and a hay ride beginning at 9 a.m. this Saturday and Sunday. Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
